Ooruni focuses towards Equal opportunities which are to be explored, expedited and exposed to the impoverished kids, women and for specially abled people.

Give Their World” is an initiative to support differently able and specially able in building an environment conducive to them and also to provide platforms to portray their talents. 

Ooruni celebrates Freedom Carnival, imbibing the beauty and serenity of the differently and Specially abled people, by providing them fun with conducive activities, games and entertainment both indoors & outdoors.

An opportunity for showcasing their inbuilt talent is also given to them by Talent show. This is being celebrated continuously since 2017. Parental Awareness sessions are being conducted periodically with elite panel of professionals dealing with the day to day challenges, thus enlightening the parents of special kids by bringing them in contact with various expertise in building the future of those kids.

Ooruni has launched an initiative for Women Empowerment called “AWAKE” which stands for Advocacy to Women’s Ability and Knowledge for Empowerment. AWAKE since 2017- is committed to equal opportunities for women and conducted

  1. An Exclusive meet for Women start up Entrepreneurs where around 100 women aspiring entrepreneurs participated.
  2. An Awareness Seminar on POSH – 2019 [Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace] in association “Post Graduation Department of Social Work (SF), Madras School of Social Work”

Co-founded a unique initiative called “We are your Voice” to connect HR professionals and employers with differently able students and are successful in bringing a life enhancing opportunities to them. A team of dedicated volunteers channelise the requirements from Government, Non-Government and private sectors, and guide the placements for specially and differently abled adults.

First of its kind recognition for working women, Working Women Achievers Award- WWAA is for recognising the achievements of working women, is a pilot project initiated by Ooruni since 2018.

50 women from various industries are awarded for their achievements in their relevant field.

Book of “100 Working Women Achievers” also released during the award ceremony.

Rehabilitation Activities

During Kerala floods in 2018, as part of  Rehabilitation activities ,we have identified and distributed the required materials  to  Vivekananda Balasadanam Orphanage Child Home located at Thaikkattusseryand to Asha Bhavanam Old Age Home from Kerala’s Government – Social Justice Department located at Ramavarmapuram.

Gaja cyclone Rehabilitation, 2018 –  delivered two Chain Saw Machines to Vilundamaavadi representatives. Also supplied 3+ tons of relief materials, which was distributed across 23 places in 9 villages.
